Stomping Freedom [Movie Event]

Caesar’s Ford Theatre presents…
Stomping Freedom [The Movie]
Tuesday, October 13, 2026 @ 7pm

STOMPING FREEDOM shares the “other side” of history that took place here in Ohio 250
years ago, before this land was a part of the United States. The film is adapted from the “Shawnee Living History Tour” script with a runtime of just under 40 minutes. It’s broken up into 5 chapters, starting in the year 1778 and the news that the Lenape (Delaware) peace chief, White Eyes, has been murdered.

With the news, a letter, carried by land speculators who have been captured, Caesar, Stratton’s
familiar lead, must be delivered to Blue Jacket for translation. Along the way, political
differences and cultural values are revealed, leading viewers to a better understanding of those
turbulent times. In the final scene, Stratton reveals the meaning of the title, an homage to the
dignity and pride of American Indian people who are still here today.

This showing will be followed by a talk-back sessions with:
Eric Wensman (Shawnee Tribe, Bird Creek Shawnee) Shawnee language consultant, descendant of Tecumseh
Aubree Wensman (Shawnee Tribe, Bird Creek Shawnee) Shawnee language consultant, cast member, descendant of Tecumseh
