The Avalon Film Festival is a new annual event, bringing independent filmmakers and their films into the spotlight. We are looking for all types of film creators, from beginners to experienced, to take on our 52-hour challenge.
"Thank you so so so so so much for putting this together with all your team. This was an absolutely incredible weekend and an incredible experience. I've been working hard lately on skills, and while I'm far from where I want to be, this was the perfect opportunity to push those skills into overdrive!
This has been one unforgettable experience, and I pray that there are many many more to come!!"
- D.J. Schrader and Magnolian Pictures -

The Avalon Film Festival is a new annual event, bringing independent filmmakers and their films into the spotlight. Filmmakers and their teams were given 52-hours to write, film, and edit a 6-8 minute film. Team chose, at random, a specific genre and all films were required to include a specific prop [Buckeye], line ["If only camels could dance."], and character [Roberta or Raymond Hallohan].
Once the films were completed, a panel of experts in the film industry took time to judge the films following a specific rubric for the Avalon Film Festival.
Tonight we get to see the hard work of our teams on the BIG SCREEN at The Avalon Theatre, and award prizes in multiple categories.
Filmmakers and Teams include:
Andy Lindsey
Magnolian Pictures
Natures Eyes
Simon House Productions
Tickets: $2.00
