The Avalon Theatre invites you to Plant Roots in Uptown Marysville

The Avalon Theatre has been a cornerstone of Uptown Marysville since its Grand Opening in 1936 and continues to be today. Even after an extensive renovation, The Avalon stands as an Art Deco reminder of the rich history of Marysville.  With the historic theatre’s past firmly intact, The Avalon Theatre is looking to ensure its future, and with the upcoming event “Plant Roots with The Avalon Theatre” the Board of Directors and Staff plan to do just that.

"Everyone belongs at The Avalon Theatre,” said Avalon Theatre Executive Director Ryan Bowie “Your membership helps to provide a secure financial footing enabling us to continue to present thought-provoking, moving, and engaging arts and cultural experiences for all. Your membership helps sustain The Avalon Theatre and your generosity is what allows us to be bold, take risks, and bring first-rate entertainment to life. It's also a direct investment in our future, supporting development and training programs for the artists of tomorrow."

The Avalon Theatre will host the FREE event “Plant Roots with The Avalon Theatre” on Monday, April 22, starting at 5:30 pm. This membership kick-off event will also serve as the official unveiling of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation Marquee Club, an exciting partnership between two important institutions originating next door to each other right here in Union County. The event will include a short presentation of the membership levels and benefits, along with entertainment by the Avalon Children’s Choir, and the band Second Story Acoustic! Second Story Acoustic will feature jazz, blues, classic rock, and country music;  familiar tunes that we all know and love presented with their unique twist.

The entire community is invited to attend this exciting event which will include a sampling of the new food selections that will be offered full-time in the Marquee Club, located in the theatre’s beautiful lobby. The event will also feature “A Slice of Leon’s” pizza by Leon's Garage, and ice cream sundaes by Rollies.

The Schulze Family Gallery located in the hall between the lobby and the theatre will also be debuting a new art show at the event featuring ten beautiful oil and acrylic works by Donald Coder, DDS, a retired Marysville dentist turned painter.

This event is made possible with the help of Presenting Sponsors, Mark & Bonnie Navarre, Steve & Mardy Stolte, and Elizabeth Martin.

This event will be presented free of charge, however RSVPs are required.  You can reserve your spot at theavalontheatre.org/events, or stop by The Avalon Theatre box office. The box office is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm and one hour before all events.

The Avalon Theatre hopes everyone in Marysville will find a way to plant roots at The Avalon Theatre and enjoy their diverse offerings all year long.
